Sales Manager

Department: Ozinga Materials & Logistics
Location: Mokena, IL

Ozinga is seeking a Sales Manager for the Materials and Logistics (OML) Division.  This role will provide sales leadership, coaching, and development of aggregate sales reps in the OML business. Drive increasing revenue by winning more work at best possible selling price while coordinating with operating groups to balance costs and inventories. Provide regular updates & communications regarding key sales metrics (such as win/loss, major jobs won or lost, competitive landscape, ASP, volumes, gross margin, etc).

A typical day may include: 

  • Actively engages with, embodies, and reinforces Ozinga culture and values
  • Increase effectiveness and efficiency of OML aggregate sales team
  • Deepen the teams’ knowledge, use, and adoption of Sandler selling
  • Increase cross-selling engagement with Ozinga Ready-Mix & Ozinga Cement
  • Be able to engage in executive selling
  • Move selling activities further up the org chart and project chain
  • Optimizing and balancing ASP vs. volume vs. product mix
  • Work with operations across the system to balance sales against production/costs
  • Engage and communicate with a variety of stakeholders and the OML executive team
  • Coordinate selling and marketing activities for lead generation with Ozinga marketing team

You might be a good fit if:

You possess a High School diploma or a College degree (preferred).  You have a minimum of 5 years business-to-business sales management experience.  Your have experience and certified with Sandler Selling (highly preferred).  You are coach/mentor wired – this will not be a player/coach model. You are OK with this role not carrying any accounts directly.  You are not a micro-manager, but know when to dig deeper (with questions, not telling), and when to back off.  You have implemented/adopted a CRM system highly (preferred).  Your traits include encouragement, challenging the status quo, and team player.  You have experience with aggregates or construction industry (preferred).  You have effective and honest communication skills.  You are comfortable talking to prospect/customers at levels from executives/ownership, to project team members.  You can think out-of-the-box, and employ creative approaches and solutions to revenue opportunities.  You're willing to have tough, uncomfortable conversations with customers, sales team, and other Ozinga company employees
