Junior Business Intelligence Developer - Mokena - 2022

Department: 102 - IT
Location: Mokena, IL

Summary:  The Junior Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and continued support of informational and analytical reports, data models, data engineering, and data integration solutions within the Ozinga Bros., Inc. organization.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Writing T-SQL queries and stored procedures to return and manipulate data per business needs
  • Designing and developing reusable reports for business users and presenting data in a way which informs and helps make business decisions
  • Working with the Business Intelligence team to identify data and reporting needs and develop and maintain a Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Models, and Reporting Framework
  • Developing solutions to move data between different applications and databases
  • Debugging and troubleshooting queries, procedures, data integration solutions, and data models
  • Working with Business Analysts and Back Office employees to identify and plan new data and reporting needs and make additions to existing processes
  • Creating documentation for end-user data consumption and administrative troubleshooting and auditing
  • Assisting the Business Systems Support team, Client Services, and Management teams with application troubleshooting when needed
  • Maintain excellent communication with users, staff and management on deadlines and status
  • Analysis and self-management of time
  • Utilize time efficiently, maintain costs by reducing overtime whenever possible and avoid “over committing”
  • Follow through with business areas to ensure all expectations have been met
  • Deliver quality to the users
  • Regular attendance and physical presence at the office or jobsite is an essential function of this position

Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
  • Proficient in query/index tuning, database and data model design and development in the Microsoft SQL Server stack
  • Working knowledge of C#/.NET Framework and Python
  • Familiarity with GIT preferred
  • Familiarity with various Azure data services preferred
  • Strong background in Mathematics preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite of products
  • Hardware trouble shooting, basic programming skills and knowledge of Computer LAN and WAN networking. Strong knowledge of Industry specific applications like Integra, JWS Apex, Quadrel, Digital Fleet, and numerous other applications as required. Proficient with Database support on Microsoft SQL.


  • 1-2 years working with SQL Server Data Tools and writing T-SQL

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Must be self-motivated and a team player
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm in high-pressure situations

Working Conditions:

  • Operates within a professional office environment
  • Routine usage of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10lbs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move 25lbs.
