Energy Account Executive - 2021

Department: 500 - Sales
Location: Mokena, IL



The Account Executive supports the overall functions of the Sales and Marketing for Ozinga Energy.  As a member of our team, they will be responsible for generating revenue by identifying and developing new accounts. The position also involves growing our market share within existing clients. Individuals should possess the right balance of relationship-building skills and motivation to significantly impact our sales growth targets within the alternative fuel market.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Hunt and develop new business in the corporate market.
  • Grow existing assigned accounts by devising effective sales strategies to identify larger opportunities and make recommendations to drive increased account activity.
  • Act on leads and referrals while identifying new prospects
  • Initiates sales process by scheduling appointments, making initial presentation, and understanding account requirements.
  • Close sales by building rapport with potential account, explaining product and service capabilities and overcoming objections
  • Track, monitor and accurately forecast business across the account base.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in local industry opportunities such as conferences and seminars
  • Participate is trade shows, expos, and other company events
  • Utilize company social media sites to promote the company and related industries (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Handle all aspects of the renewal process for Key Accounts, from contract and customer performance review through negotiations to closure.
  • Engage with customers to build opportunities, deepening relationships through customer-facing closing activities.
  • Coordinate the involvement of internal personnel, including support, service, and management resources, to reach objectives, trouble-shoot issues, and meet customers' expectations.
  • Cultivate internal relationships with cross-functional partners in all departments.
  • Enter accurate customer and sales data into CRM and related systems


Global Responsibilities:

  • Weekly attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this position
  • Able to take calls on days not in the office/scheduled to work and relay to appropriate employees as necessary
  • This job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meet business needs




Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent educational experience.
  • Minimum 1 year’ sales experience with a proven track record in meeting quota.


  • CNG or alternative fuel sales experience preferred
  • Educational technology sales experience and or teaching experience is desirable.



  • Excellent aptitude for customer service
  • Competitive and highly motivated self-starter
  • Proficient in MS Office and Sales Management Software.
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective problem solver
  • Able to work independently or as part of a group
